This is a classic regulation enlisted jacket for cavalry. Constructed of dark blue wool w/ yellow worsted trim, faced w/ 12 sm. general service eagle buttons, 2 on each collar & 2 on each functional cuff. Fully lined in coarse weave cotton, markings in right sleeve; “U.S. / Q.M.D.” and other: “G.W.J.” (inspector) & no size markings. The internal pocket on the left side has only 4.5” opening & much shallower than the typical late war surplus contracts encountered. Condiction is fine overall, complete and original in every regard, tightly sewed seams & original buttons. Original pillows are present.
