Confederate Leech & Rigdon Revolver #1461 "LAST OF THE LINE". This serial number marks the end of production as detailed in the comprehensive letter of authentication by John Sexton which accompanies this revolver. 

"SN 1461 is standard production with transition of Leech government contract filled by Jesse Ansley who moved operation from Greensboro to Augusta, GA early 1864. It is the last revolver known with “LEECH & RIGDON CSA” marking. This is honest example, all original and complete with serial numbers found on every part normally numbered including barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder, arbor, grips, (penciled), loading arm, loading arm catch, and wedge.
The highest serial number noted made by Leech & Rigdon is 1461, this revolver. There were less than 1480 Leech & Rigdon revolvers of all configurations manufactured. I have notes on 175 examples which is about 11.8% of total production, which is consistent with survivors of other primary Confederate revolvers.
This Leech & Rigdon is a fine honest example with good discernible markings, original tool marks made early 1864 made in Augusta, Georgia and inspected by Wescom Hudgin. This revolver saw honest use and has survived in complete original condition with collection history dating from 1960s in Union City, TN, not leaving till 2020.
In the 1400-serial range of Leech & Rigdon revolvers, there are 11 examples extant known to me as of this date and the other examples are 1404, 1405, 1408, 1410, 1416, 1421, 1437 (just cylinder married with Colt navy), 1440, 1448, and 1453. Several examples with same Wescom Hudgin inspector’s cartouche “WH” in diamond are found on 1262, 1285, 1386, 1388, 1404, 1405, and 1416 all made early 1864 in Augusta"

This revolver is 100% complete and original down to every screw. It is one of only 8 Leech & Rigdon revolvers to bear the 'WH' in a diamond inspectors mark.
