Super Nice Union Smith Carbine

50 Caliber, serial number 3547. 21 5/8" round barrel with octagon shank. Iron block front sight with German silver blade and carbine leaf rear sight. Case colored single shot action. Bariel pivots downward to load and is activated by latch located forward of trigger. Band fastened walnut forearm and straight grip stock with steel carbine butt plate. Left side of action is marked “MANUFACTURED BY/AM’N M’ CH’ N WKS/SPRINGFIELD MASS”. Estimated quantity of over 30,000 manufactured 1861-1865.

Fine condition barrel retains over 90% blue. Action retains 90% case colors. Stocks have original finish showing a few scratches, marks and dents. Right ear of stock has crisp cartouche. Crisp mechanics. Bright bore retains sharp rifling.
