This is one of the most attractive Confederate carbines that you can own. A third model Morse carbine that is 100% correct and original in every regard. US Berdan Sharps Rifle - US Sharpshooters
Scarce, completely original example of one of the most popular and important Sharps arms used in the Civil War. This gun, serial number 55453, falls in the proper range for guns issued to the 1st & 2nd United States Sharpshooters, commanded by Hiram S. Berdan. This gun has the important characteristics to classify this as Berdan; serial range, set triggers and "JT" cartouche. It retains much original blue finish on barrel. Barrel has proper markings of "Sharps Rifle / Mfg Co / Hartford, Conn" and "New Model 1859". Bore is still very good with well defined rifling and some shine. Frame is properly marked and retains some original case pattern mixing with a very old refinish (some known by Bannermans). Stocks are sound though they show use with numerous nicks, scrapes and scratches and a burned area around rear swivel. Cartouche, as can be seen in photo, is present but is difficult to read. Functionally this gun operates well and appears original and authentic in every regard. Berdan Sharps are hard to find with a decent cartouche and any finish at all. This attractive gun will make a fine addition to any collection.

US Model 1816 Conversion - Harper's Ferry
| Product Code: CCR4240 |
 |
This nice looking 1841 dated Harper's Ferry just surfaced in a High Point, N.C. estate. It has a really nice hand worn finish with large initials cut into the right side of stock. Barrel was shortened during the time of its use, being 41 inches instead of the standard 42, causing the bayonet lug to be closer to the muzzle than usual. Ramrod is a model 1842 style repro. No way to prove it but this was almost certainly a Confederate used firearm.

Conversion of an Early Model 1816 Springfield for Philadelphia
Seldom seen Conversion of a Model 1816 Springfield by A. Wurfflein for the City of Philadelphia and so marked on the patent breech. This musket is also marked at the breech in a single line: A WURFFLEIN, who was a Philadelphia gun maker as well as a known arms inspector for the City of Philadelphia. Evidently Wurfflein had a pre-war contract to alter flinlock muskets to percussion for the city in the years leading up to the Civil War. The breech is dated 1856 on this musket and is obviously the same die as the other marks thereon. This is a real straight, honest Civil War gun that has seen a lot of use in many battles on the hard campaign.
