Confederate Artillery Officer's Sabre Product Code: CCR1971
Excellent Confederate artillery officer's sabre by Thomas Griswold of New Orleans. Blade has the desireable full firm name 'Thomas Griswold & Co' over 'New Orleans' stamped into the ricasso. Blade is free from any major knicks or other damage and exhibits mixed areas of mottled patina and brightness. Original scabbard is constructed of copper with brass mounts, rings, and drag. It is relatively dent free but has been cleaned at some point long ago. The original wood, wrap, and wire are still present on the hilt. The hilt on this example is nice and tight. Overall this is a super maker marked, Confederate sword and will make a great addition to your Confederate collection.
