Confederate Cavalry Saber With Wood Scabbard believed to be manufactured by B. Douglas of Columbia S.C. This classic Confederate pattern has always been popular with collectors.
34 inch blade has a thin patina with original tool marks visible. Hilt has a pleasing red color and has no play. Leather grip with iron wire is completely intact although leather is somewhat flaked but completely stable.
Wood scabbard has tin mounts painted black with copper rings, throat and drag blade. Scabbard has cracks running lengthwise from middle band to drag.
